Thankful Thoughts List – #5 Foggy Paths

November 24, 2011

I am thankful that …

5. foggy to me is not foggy to God.

This truth was literally right in front of me as I took a mountain walk recently.

It looked like there was a trail through the trees, but because the clouds had descended around the mountain, I couldn’t be sure. I couldn’t see through the mist  to see the route to the meadow below. Our friends who had been there before assured me that the path was there but I sure couldn’t see it.

I think that the reason I stood completely still the moment I saw the opening in the fall foliage is because it was such a vivid picture of our recent history. And the peace that flooded my heart was familiar because His faithful, loving presence has brought us great peace during times when we haven’t seen very far ahead.

A song from long ago resurfaced in my mind: God will make a way when there seems to be no way.

He has done that so graciously, so kindly, and so generously for us!

God is a way maker!

Thank you, God! I know that You see where I cannot see – and that is enough.
